Safety Tips - Avoid scams easily!

It is actually not that difficult to be safe in the game. All scams are just mistakes caused by lack of attention. So to avoid most of the scams you need to follow a few basic rules:

1. Take your time when trading. Never click automatically, especially not in the second trade window.
2. Remember that no one can "trim" your armour.
3. Know the price of the item before you trade it.
4. Pay attention to the second trade window. Are there the same items as in the first window? A very common scam is when the scammer quickly change items or amount of money in the first window.
5. Beware of trades near the Wilderness. Teams of scammers can easily PK YOU there.
6. You must know that in the case of a scam you will never get your items back. Jagex has a "no turn-back" policy. Even if they ban the scammer and you have plenty of proof, you still lose your items FOREVER.

So ATTENTION, ATTENTION and more ATTENTION...

Game Tips - Training the Mage.

The following tips will help to train your magic more effectively:

1. Forget about monster drops.
The most convenient way is to cast your spells from places where the monsters can't reach You.

2. Chaos runes training.
Forget about fire bolt, there is a much more effective way to train with chaos runes - crumble undead spell. It will give You twice the experience as fire bolt and only 4.5 experience less than Camelot teleport at nearly half of its cost. It is one of the best ways to train regardless of your mage level. There is a small problem with the Crumble Undead spell - you need to do all those clicks instead of autocast. However this can be solved! With Slayer's Staff you can use autocast with Crumble Undead, but you need level 55 Slayer skill to use it.

3. High Alchemistry & Camelot Teleport.
These two ways seem to be very popular. But you can get quicker experience at a much cheaper price with the Cumble Undead spell so we still suggest you use it instead. However if you don't care about price of those spells, you will find these ways of training convenient in terms of easiness and quickness.

4. Teleport other Spells.
The best way to do this is to find a place with one or two people alching and cast it on them, since when they cast the alch spells it automatically closes the teleother window interface.

5. Do not use Ancient spells.
These spells are absolutely useless in terms of experience and price.

Did You know?

...that when using the Antifire Dragon Shield + Antifire breath potion at the same time, the dragon will do NO damage at all with it's fire breath?

...that 80% of Runescape players have Zezima in their friend list?

...that some slayer monsters have a magical based attacks even though it's melee? This means that you should wear dragon hide armour to be best defended. The following slayer monsters have a magical based attack: Pyrefiend, Infernal Mage, Bloodveld, Jelly and the Aberrant Specter.

Safety Tips - New trade scam

***Free stuff (sharks, lobsters, high level pots etc), show your inventory!!!***

This particular scam has only been around for a few weeks. It normally takes place in busy worlds where people trade and carry a lot of items. The scammer will ask you to put your inventory in trade window so that he can see how many of his "free" items you can fit in. Thinking only of those free items, you might forget that your whole inventory is up for trade and automatically click accept. Keep a sober approach to all trades and do not hesitate to report scammers. If an offer looks to good to be true, then it probably is.

Game Tips - Combat training

There are plenty of places where you can train combat skills in Runescape. You should always train against enemies that you easily can beat. Training on higher level creatures is a waste of both your food and time. It is best to start with chickens, imps and rats. Once you develop some fighting skills you can move on to Goblins. When you become level 20-30 you should go to Al Kharid and fight warriors in multi-fighting zone (crossed swords in the right bottom coner). Once you attack a warrior, all warriors around will attempt to fight you. All you need to do then is stand in a corner and kill them one by one. Once you are around 40-50 you can fight guards (level 28). Edgeville has plenty of them and you can heal yourself at the monastery. Later on, you can fight jail guards or giants. Giants are the best option for middle-high combat level, because they drop valuable items like bones, roots, runes and gold.

Good training spots:

- Chickens everywhere
- Cows in the cow pen behind the windmill near Lumbridge (not the one north of the toll gate).
- Goblins in goblin village.
- Hob Goblins at mining sites in wilderness (this is a personal favorite).
- Warriors in Al Kharid.
- Guards in Falador, Varrock or Edgeville.
- Men everywhere.
- Skeletons everywhere.
- Zombies in Graveyard.
- Dwarves at dwarven mines.
- Guards in the jail east of Draynor village.
- Dark wizards in the wilderness (the ones near Varrock are usually taken).
- Black knights in Lava Maze.
- Giants in wilderness or Edgeville dungeon.

Did You know?

...that holding control (ctrl) while clicking at a destination spot causes your character to run there even if you are set to walking?

...that the "ignore" list is a perfect place to store very short notes or reminders? It is great for making notes of the fairy ring codes, farmer payments, item quantities or prices and many other things.

...an aggressive monster will stop auto-attacking after you reach its double combat level +1?

Safety Tips - Safety of your account

Jagex will never email you. THEY SIMPLY NEVER SEND EMAILS! They only contact you through their message system on the Runescape website. They will never ask you to login to your account via a link provided in an email and they will never ask for your password, whether it is an email or another player you encounter in-game. Just because an email says it's from admin@jagex.com or something similar, it doesn't mean that it comes from Jagex. There are ways for scammers to fake the email address appearing as sender. So you should DELETE any emails you get from "Jagex" or anyone claiming to be affiliated with them.

Game Info - Moderators

You have all heard about moderators in Runescape, but who are they? What are their responsibilities? Let's find out.

There are three types of moderators in Runescape:
1. Gold Moderator (Jagex staff)
2. Player Moderator
3. Forum Moderator

The first moderator type is the most powerful one and has the right to ban people instantly in the game - ranging from one hour bans to permanent ones. These moderators are part of the Jagex team and they are paid for that job. So the only way to become a gold moderator is to be hired by Jagex and work in their headquarters. Gold moderators can be recognized by a gold crown next to their name in the chat window.

The second type is the Player Moderator (Player mod). Player mods are normal players that have been approved for the task by specialized Jagex staff. Player Mods have the power to mute people who have been swearing a lot and their abuse reports are considered very high priority. This kind of moderator can be recognized by a silver crown next to their name in the chat window. You will never become a player moderator by asking for it. You can ask a player moderator to fill an abuse report for you.

The third type, Forums Moderators, consist of both Player Moderators and Jagex Moderators. They moderate the official Runescape forums.

Newsletter #2

Here's the second Runescape Newsletter from RPGStash.com!

Safety Tips

The Trust Test.
ome players can ask you to show your trust to them before you can join some mysterious clan. You can be asked to give other player some cheap item, which you will get back. But that is not it, before you can join the clan you will need to give scammer another item, which should be expensive. You can be 100% certain you won't get back your expensive item.
There is no such practice as "trust test" to join any clan.
Never give another player an item that you don't want to lose.

Game Tips

PKing (Player Killing) in Runescape is more interesting and advanced than in any other MMORPG games. Some players think that the three most important things for PKing are:
1. Big combat level character
2. Good Internet connection
3. Luck

All these factors are important, but we would say that following are more crucial for good PKing:
1. Proper skills leveled. Character with stats 50/50/70 attack/defence/strength is much better, for example, than a 70/70/70 character. Characters with stats 50/50/70 will win over 50% of all fights in wilderness against other player with same combat level.
2. Patience, patience and more patience. Some players are getting nervous when there are many aggressive players around. Be patient and do not make mistakes.
3. Good mouse. Wrong click and you are dead.
4. Know the map! Good study of the Wilderness map is essential for PKing.

Have a good hunt!

Safety Tips

German servers:
Avoid trades on the newly introduced German servers at all costs. Scammers put up for trade what appears to be the correct item, but it's not necessarily what it seems to be. One common example is the scam with logs (the scammer puts in trade for example oak logs instead of yew logs). Do not trade on German servers, unless You know German.
Do you know the difference? Eiche loggt or Eibe loggt?

Game Tips

There are different kinds of fighting classes in the game.
There are 3 common ones:
1. Warrior
2. Mage
3. Ranger
Every class has advantages and disadvantages. For easier understandings you can use combat triangle:
Rangers defeat Mages
Mages defeat Warriors
Warriors defeat Rangers
Use this triangle as a small guide for wilderness PKing.
If You are a warrior hunt for rangers.
If You are a ranger hunt for mages.
If You are a mage hunt for warrior.
Please, remember, combat triangle works only when each class' main fighting skill is about equal to one another.
And don't forget your food and escape teleport tablets.

Did You know?

... that if players wear a holy or unholy symbol and enter any team in Castle Wars, they will be transformed into an imp (holy symbol in the Zamorak portal), sheep (Holy or unholy symbol in Guthix portal), or rabbit (unholy symbol through Sarodomin portal)?

...that players always face south upon login?
